Personally, I find that there is usually more "interest" in the sky (especially if it transitions to a darker tone) than in the extensive black foreground. Also, I find it to be true (even in my own photography) that images that include the sun do much better on film than sensors: the tonal transitions are simply too abrupt with digital. I've seen a few very nice digital images with the sun included, and I wish I knew how they did it. My solution has been to meter with the digital camera and then shoot with my Pentax 645. stp 6 Posted September 22, 2009 I'm looking at this again in different light (I'm limited to a laptop these days), and I see detail in the foreground that I hadn't seen before. Very nice. The texture in the grasses and the line in the small gully really add a lot to the photo. Link to comment
