I like shots like this. Personally, I find that there is usually more "interest" in the sky (especially if it transitions to a darker tone) than in the extensive black foreground. Also, I find it to be true (even in my own photography) that images that include the sun do much better on film than sensors: the tonal transitions are simply too abrupt with digital. I've seen a few very nice digital images with the sun included, and I wish I knew how they did it. My solution has been to meter with the digital camera and then shoot with my Pentax 645.

I'm looking at this again in different light (I'm limited to a laptop these days), and I see detail in the foreground that I hadn't seen before. Very nice. The texture in the grasses and the line in the small gully really add a lot to the photo.
