Mirza is a beautiful girl. There is something about her that I find mesmerizing. The skin is overexposed, but suits her perfectly. She appears soft and delicate -- like she needs to be held and protected. I love the eye contact with the camera (viewer) and her expression. She is calling out for help. Her fallen strap adds to her vulnerability.

 

I know that the viewer's eyes will go to the strap, follow it, and will be drawn out of the photograph.

 

I also know she should have more room in front of her than behind. This would allow her to be facing into the picture, not out of it. You want to compositionally balance the left and right sides of the photograph. The compositional "rule" for this suggests that you position the tip of the subject's nose in the vertical center of the photograph.

 

Even with the minor compositional problems that are present, I still love this photograph. I can feel the subject. She communicates to me. This is what makes a portrait interesting to me. I am drawn into her eyes -- into her.

fantastic high key image, really well toned.. I always find it difficult to rate portraits as they are so subjective and so many can really lack originality but you have been able to format an present an image worthy of comment.. MJ high Marks!
