Guest Guest Posted August 28, 2002 This is one of the most intense portraits I have ever seen. Excellent work! Link to comment

mg 0 Posted August 29, 2002 I really can't see anything up to your standard in this image... It is quite good, yes, but the expression is very stiff. Besides that, the light is very ordinary to me and I feel there's too much chest in the frame - which imo looks strange, especially given the fact that the hair is cropped off. I can't like ALL of your work, can I ? :-) Cheers. Link to comment
stik 0 Posted August 29, 2002 This picture definitely works for me. Hmmm... it is difficult to express in words (about a thousand words short) Link to comment
scott bulger 0 Posted August 29, 2002 I love the mood you always seem to impart on your images. Did you use studio lighting here in an exterior shot? It looks like trees in the background. If so, very well controlled. Link to comment
lasse_hoile 0 Posted August 29, 2002 Endnu een skønhed, virkelig godt billede og sikken udstråling hun har.....jeg giver snart op :=) -L Link to comment
Stock-Photos 1 Posted August 30, 2002 Of all the fine images in this folder, this one stands out. Great work. Link to comment
alex_p._schorsch 0 Posted August 30, 2002 I think the lighting enhanced the soft beauty of the subject. This is what potrait is all about. Link to comment
don_harper_the_edge 0 Posted August 30, 2002 Your portraits really convey a style that says this is Rene's work. Beautiful work. I do have one suggestion. Consider splitting your work into theme folders. It's difficult for those of us with slow internet connections to download such large folders in one gulp. Thanks for sharing your art Rene. valeriu_campan 0 Posted August 30, 2002 Sorry Rene, far from your usual.. the shaddow from the nose too long... and the strange shaddow around the lips make you think at the problems of well known female tennis star... great eyes though Link to comment
fotoman 0 Posted August 30, 2002 Very Striking in it's simplicity. It riminds me a bit of one of my favorite portraits that was a cover of National Geo. With the Girl. It's all about the eyes. Natural beauty is always nice! Link to comment
silvergull 0 Posted September 1, 2002 I usually like the top of the frame to clear the subject's hair if the sides of the frame clear the face. This photo works , however, most likely because if her striking eyes. The lighting ratio seems right too. Why, oh why, do so many young women look so angry, sad and hurt? I have four daughters, I know why. Link to comment
jay_de_fehr 0 Posted September 2, 2002 I have a beautiful niece who exhibits the same serenity of expression and I find it mesmerizing. I believe that most portraits suffer from too much expression that masks more than it reveals. Not this one. Captivating. Link to comment
john_bradbury 0 Posted September 2, 2002 excellent, very attractive women!her eyes really look great Link to comment
pernel_s._thyseldew 0 Posted September 4, 2002 This is a great shot that could be even BETTER.... 1. crop a bit off the bottom and add a bit to the top, 2. Photoshop out the 'beauty spots' near her mouth and chin (Photoshop7 healing brush). 3. I don't think you used any fill or bounce into the shadows, just a touch of gold foil perhaps. 4. The background bothers me no end as it's too close to her hair in color and texture, hence a lack of separation. Pernel Link to comment
damien_rommal 0 Posted September 5, 2002 I personally would edit nothing out of this photo, I appreciate the natural touch to it. Contrived shots may be aesthetically appealing but they dont convey the same sense of depth that a natural beauty and a good photographer can grasp. If anything, adding to the top of the photo a bit and taking away from the bottom might be nice. Link to comment
raymond_lin 0 Posted September 5, 2002 I am speechless, the simplicity, the eyes and the plain beauty of the model is wonderful. Another excellent shot, speechless. Link to comment
millerbj15 0 Posted September 13, 2002 Like all of the photos in Rene Asmussen's Folder... Beautiful!!! Link to comment
boudewijn_rombouts 0 Posted September 18, 2002 A pretty girl :p But in all honesty I can't see why people seem to rate this picture as being representative of your best work. Tho technically good, I don't find a very original or even a very intense photo. Sorry mate, not bad but I've seen better from you. Link to comment
bruce_lucas 0 Posted September 21, 2002 I wouldn't touch the framing - it adds to the mood created by her eyes, as if she resented the confines of the frame and wanted to burst out. Link to comment
erin_____grasshopper__rice 0 Posted September 27, 2002 Hmmm. It just seems very...bland. Like a picture of a sulky teenager, which may have been the point but doesn't look like much more then that, a sulky teenager. Aesthetics are great. Your a great photographer.. this just seems to bland. Link to comment
