A German Shorthaired Pointer out hunting in very strong, early morning

light. I'm reminded why a bit of subtle fill flash can be good even when

you're sure the sun's going to treat you well. Thanks for visiting.

That's funny, Major. Because the first thing I noticed when I walked into that back-lit field were thousands of 'em. Big ones, small ones, flat ones, 3-D ones. There was lots of dew, so they stood out like crazy. Quite something to see.

Ah, David, another GSP man. Excellent taste, there.

Mr. Shorthair is staunchly holding a 15-yard point on a hunkered-down chukar partridge. Better than coffee, early in the morning, to be sure.

Ya Matt - gets my blood pumping every time. Hopefully I'll get to see it for real tomorrow - taking my pups out after woodcock & grouse.

Great sporting dog gallery btw!

Composition spot on, though I wish his face wasn'y lost in the shadows. Great shot! Do you like the Sigma?

Cheers,

Jay
