I prefer the girl without the cat.

Maybe it's to better try to capture both the girl and the cat rather than this fade/smooth image of the cat.

 

Also if you are trying to capture the soul connection then better both the eyes should (in my opinion) look straight at the camera and capture the shape of the eyes (in case there is a shape connection).

If there is a soul connection then I don't get it in this image eventhough we know what you have tried from the tiltle.
