aarkp 2 Posted September 12, 2009 a whiskered seaman, a bald aviator, and a burly soldier -- all kilted, having a day out in the country --- great capture! love the pov and composition, good monochrome Link to comment
yellowwoodphotography 0 Posted September 12, 2009 Very cool. It would have been nice to have the lady with glases and the lady at the table as just a big blur. Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted September 14, 2009 Rajat, thank you. Good to hear from you, glad you like it. Andy, thanks for the tip. I always appreciate good advice. I think I will try blurring the backgound. All the best. Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted September 15, 2009 Very nicely composed.........these chaps seem very happy in their knee socks and kilts.....amazing what a 'bit o' the breeze'......does for a 'man's soul'............My son Jess, when a toddler(3'ish).....a friend of mine played the 'pipes' along with her Dad.....whenever they would start up...he'd say'''''''''Oh no........there they go on those ol' drainpipes again !!! ''''''''''' nice shot! sincerely, Gail Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted September 15, 2009 Great. I recall attending a medical school graduation ceremony where a student wore a kilt to the event, which was held in the middle of Texas. It's all about context. Link to comment

ldavidson 4 Posted September 16, 2009 Gail,"drainpipes" that is so cute. A friend of my husband's calls them "Agony Bags". Ha! Jeff, I don't usually associate Texas with traditional Scottish Dress. Up here in the frozen tundra there are many of Scottish decent, including me. Almost every event in my life; ceremonies, parades, a few weddings and funerals have had pipers. Lester, thank you. Good to hear from you. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted September 16, 2009 Old and new, the historic kilts and the sun glasses make for an intersting image to say the least you do have an eye for the interesting... With great care MJ Link to comment
dgv 1 Posted September 18, 2009 Is interesting to notice the kilt outside of my beloved Scotland...a place where I proudly have blood bonds with...it is so moving to see the up-keep of traditions outside of the home country..you have also caught a lot of body language here..the two on the right must belong to the same clan as they wear identical tartan..altogether a very interesting photo. Warm regards. Link to comment

ldavidson 4 Posted September 18, 2009 MJ, thank you! Dimitris, there is much of the Scottish tradition alive and well in Canada, more so in the east coast provinces that in the west. Thanks for visiting. Alex, thanks for commenting. All the best, Linda Link to comment
