squiver 0 Posted September 9, 2009 This shot was taken during the Japan tour from last year and featuresa male Japanese macaque, aka snow monkey. It had just been snowing fora little while, which explains the icy bits on the fur. I wanted toget a tight portrait of this male to show the confident, dominantlook. I like the low contrast and the monochromatic tones - the almostsilvery shine off the fur - but I'm curious what you think.Nikon D2X, AF-S VR 70-200/2.8 @ 200mm, 1/200 @ f/4.5, ISO 100, fillflash, handheld Link to comment
yannik_hay 1 Posted September 18, 2009 Hello Marsel, I totally agree with you, low contrast here is the best choice. The close portrait is a good choice too. What a dominant and self assured look he has. Very well done and perfect sharpness. Take care and all the best. Link to comment
fpessolano 0 Posted October 29, 2009 Very nice portrait. Lower contrast is perfect here since it helps focusing attention of those eyes. Bravo. Link to comment
dd_toth 0 Posted January 28, 2010 If Clint Eastwood was a macaque, this would be him. :-) Link to comment
rscooper 0 Posted September 26, 2010 What's not to like? The lighting is terrific, he does in fact have that 'Clint Eastwood' look on his face and the colour and detail is spot on! Fantastic image. Link to comment
