It's worth an excursion aboard the Virginia & Truckee Railroad to get a feel of the

conditions facing dreamers in search of the Nevada mother lode of the 1850's and 60's.

Shells of mines remain for today's gold rush of tourists. That mother lode turned out to

be silver. Your time to comment is appreciated.

Rajat, Thanks for your comment. It's not a road. It's the railroad. We were on the train. The track frames the upper part of the photo and adds a bit of memorabilia for our trip.
