Wonderful surrealist capture. The buildings, boat seem like pieces from a toyland rather than real scale. And the saturated, warm colours enhance the scenery. Congratulations!

Thanks everybody for your comments and rates which I appreciate very much.

Actually Terry the time the photo was taken was 7.22 AM.We were staying in an apartment just behind the building on the far left, I looked out of the window and I saw a very unusual sky, full of fluffy pink clouds...I rushed to the harbor pier but by the time I was ready to take the picture the light changed....as you know the Scottish weather has a habit of doing that...any way, to cut a long story short, the toy town colors of the houses is real and in northern Europe especially in Scandinavia people use this vivid colors to liven things up due the relative lack of light.

As I normally shoot in raw format, because it gives me far more control, I enclose the original picture In answer to Rajat who thinks the colors are too dramatic for a cloudy day…-:) actually the scene was even more dramatic the sky behind me was lit with the dawn colors..People in the past have spent hours in the darkroom to bring out the details that they wanted In the digital darkroom we can do that in a fraction of the time. Warm regards to all and my thanks again, Dimitris.

Excellent photo Dimitri, I like the reflections on the water a lot. I have recently taken up photography and get great inspiration from images like this one. Keep up the great work.

The original shot was good. This version is great. Very skilful at bringin out so much details and contrast. This is a great example of how some times taking the picture is half the battle.
