I was out this afternoon doing what makes me happy - making images. I had not gone to this park "Parc St.Catherine" since early Spring and I was familiar with this tree and how the light falls on that small land mass in the water. Even though I did a 3 shot auto bracket. I only used one image at this time for RAW processing with capture NX V1.3. It was quite windy and I made an artistic and technical decision to go with max DOF (f22) and a slow shutter speed (I could have increased ISO and used a higher shutter speed). This resulted in solid and sharp tree trunks however the leaves are blurred and that was the 'look' I wanted in the final result. Comments are always appreciated.

Another really nice image Tony. Composition and light is terrific, what makes it for me is your work on the tones. The pictures you've posted from this location seem to me to be "processed" in terms of tonal treatment differently from your other work. I'm not sure if this is true but I really like the results.

My compliments, Bill

R. Rivera: Thank you for your visit and very nice words which are always appreciated.

Tina - 2 visits in one day (*_*) - not sure I can handle this. (*_*)

Bill - as always with insightful and appreciative words. The ones I took in the Spring (if I remember correctly) were HDR processed. This one was with my main RAW processing software that came with my Nikon D300 - Capture NX v1.3. A little dodge, burn was applied and that was pretty much it. I think if I do HDR on this one, I might get more color and tonality out of the water. After this note, I will probably have a look at that.

All the very best to everyone and have a great day.

Thanks for looking - your input is always appreciated. I was not sure

which category (Nature, Landscape, Fine Art, etc) to place this for

critique - would appreciate any input on that also.

Wow......really beautiful Tony. It almost seems as if you were up in the trees? Isn't wonderful to shoot the image and have it produce the actual effect you were shooting for =) Just lovely! Warm regards, Leslie

surreal and dreamlike. This image looks like something out of "What Dreams May Come." I wish I could walk into and live in this image.

I admire the composition and the way this image turned out to be with your exposure preferences. Dreamy and alluring. Great details! Best regards, Tony

Thanks for dropping by recently. - Lester

My! My! I am pleased and pleasantly surprised at the very positive reaction. Quite often I place my images in the Critique Forum and I honestly never know what to expect and I am sure you know that experience. I suppose it's like putting something precious (Digital SLR, child, pet, husband, wife, or unlocked sports car - not listed in order of priority ) out on the street and see if a friend/stranger will be honest and kind in their actions. So many thanks again.

This is not about the image but the compact Flash card on which the image was written. After doing some research, I took a chance on Kingston 16GB 133x eiete Pro card and I have been shooting tons of images on it and nary a problem. I don't know how much longer it will be at this price but you can pick it up at B&H Photo Video for a reasonable price of 39.00US.

Hello Tony, I like the result very much.

And mostly the yellow-green leaves and reflections on the water.

Cheers!
