This afternoon I spent at least 30 minutes at this location trying to photograph the weed and the Rocks. I took many images varying shutter speed, with and without polarizer; shifting location; trying multiple exposure however this - my first single exposure image - with polarizer turned out to be the one I would share here at PN. Pretty much everything was in motion except the rocks and a certain portion of the weeds. I like it because of the weed motions and the complex flow of water and the orange light hitting certain portions. Others may just see this as rock, water and weed. I am always looking for your opinion and how you feel about it. Thanks,

Tony, this is a magnificent intimate. The colors are rich, the forms graceful, and the blurred water adds a level of real dynamism. As a (very small) nit, I think I'd back off on the brightness of the sunlit seaweed a little, in order to balance the tonality a bit with the submerged elements. I'm not sure about that, however. As it is, I've added this to my "favorites" list.

This is a beautiful image. I'm really impressed by the diagonal composition, the wonderful light and the way you have presented the tones, to me they are perfect.

A really superb image.

My sincere compliments, Bill

Keith - I appreciate the visit and your kind words.

John - Thank you for suggestion and your kind words indicating your appreciation for this image. I guess I got a bit lucky. The brightness on the upper left section of the weed was actually toned down a bit (no loss of highlights) - will see if a little more burning will allow me to keep it's natural look and what I remember of the scene.

Tina - you have been a little scarce at PN - hope all is well and I thank you for your ratings and kind words.

Bill - I appreciate your visit and your kind words. The light at this time of day seems to change quite quickly - I have other images during the 30 minutes I photographed at this location and each has it's own character but I keep coming back to this one.

Best regards to everyone and have a great day,

I very much like the one you have chosen to present to us for viewing. The portion of the seaweed that is underwater is captivating to the eye. Next time also consider taking a set of 3 images that could be processed with HDR software, I think that might be exciting to see. OR, is this one already done in HDR?

Pamela - thanks for the visit. I usually try and use the KIS (Keep It Simple) approach: rocks, weed and water - in this case. The submerged weed, its form and the light colored striations which represents the movement of water is what keeps me glued to the image - as if in a hypnotic state. I should be back much later tonight - other "life matters" to attend.

Beautiful Tony,

This is one of those simple sights in nature, that are so challenging to capture and present in a way that others can experience the same beauty that you saw. You have done a great job. Congrats! katherine

Tony, I like the composition, the movement in the weeds, the colours are fantastic. Perhaps I have been looking at too many science fiction, fantasy movies, but the rock looks to me like a repulsive pond creature raising it's head to peer around. An interesting and original image, facinating to look at. Well done! Best wishes, Linda
