This can be viewed large to see the detail and sharpness of the image. I did what I

could in view of shooting in mid-day from a disadvantageous spot - that's what

happens to fleeting visitors in our National Parks. Your comments are appreciated.

I'm not especially a landscape photographer, but I like to look at them discovering places I was not there..I think that this is a very nice representation of the area despite the difficulties. The details, color palette, the diagonal/angle/triangle are well seen and composed. I'm not sure about the lower blue line of the lake?, It will do better imo without this part as it"cuts" the continuity of the frame and it is rich enough without it. Just my point of view. ;-))

Thanks for your comment. Your kind of critique is really helpful as our images are as good as others perceive them. This was a difficult image to capture - I was nowhere close to the lake and shot it from afar with a 200mm. The blue at the lower right is the lake. I understand your point about the mountains making a statement on their own. Perhaps I will try duplicating the image and cropping out the lake. Mid day shooting was another major negative here - oh for the woes of tourist photographers. I really appreciate your comment.

Thanks, Lannie.

I really appreciate the "favorites" compliment.  When capturing this from the side of the road I was moaning about it being mid-day with washed out light.  Michael Frye has some amazing images of Yosemite. You may want to check out his web site.  Thanks again for visiting my adventures in Yosemite.   Larry
