You get some pretty good images with your 80-400 lens. I have yet to get a clear shot of a waxwing. Always seem to be burried to deep in the little branches and foliage.

Update: PN is now allowing me to do sevens again so max. What I like about it is lots of clarity where it counts - the berry in it's beak is a nice touch - the branch on which it sits is in a nice diagonal position and with berries. The leaves at the top add a natural framing.

At first glance, I wondered if there was a loss of highlights but it looks like all is well. Keep up the good work and thanks for the additional information re wide-angle software for distortion correction. Some tired synapses kicked in suggesting that you may have passed on that info on a previous occasion. Best regards,

Thank you very much, Monte, Tony, Keith, Lawrence and Mary! It's good to be back doing this again and to hear from all of you!

Monte, the 80-400 is the "bargain" route to Nikon's good glass, but the AF is very slow. The birds are very quick but I'm lucky that this pin cherry tree is at the corner of my deck at the lake. I can just stand in the shadows and watch these birds at eye level from about 15 feet. It's almost like cheating...almost:-)

Have a great night, everyone!

Dick
