Guest Guest Posted August 24, 2009 Very nice image David! To me it looks like a decaying mitochondria trying to derive energy from molecules of the "modern" pieces of organic matter that in the big shops are labelled as "food". Cheers! Link to comment
dabar 0 Posted August 24, 2009 What an insightful comment! Just what I would expect from you... ;-)This image is most certainly open to a vast array of interpretations. Yours is an excellent one. This was done with a tool designed to aid in the visualization of dynamic systems as a super-set of strange attractors. I would consider this as 'art' emerging from science. Both disciplines utilize similar cognitive pathways in the brain.Thank you for commenting! Link to comment

rosanna_remezzano 0 Posted August 30, 2009 Fascinating!! It looks like an actual "fish" made with kind of neon lights, a unique photo. The thing is...how did you get? Regards , Rosanna Remezzano Link to comment
dabar 0 Posted August 31, 2009 While searching for 'strange attractors' I happened upon this. I had to move it about in 3D space to find this shape. I then rendered it as a 2D bitmap, using the 'plasma' mode for surface, transparency and colors. I then did some post-processing to get the finished image. The base image was done with Chaoscope, free scientific visualization software. There can be quite a bit of time and effort expended on one of these images,,, but not always. Thank you for your interest and comment. Have fun if you give it a try... Link to comment
