this picture was taken from the base of Fall Creek Falls, the highest

waterfall east of the Mississippi. heavy spring rains had fallen and the

volume of water passing over the falls made for a magnificent sight. but

i failed to anticipate the fact that the spray from the water striking the

rocks below extended for close to a hundred yards. so rather than

risk "frying" the electronics on my unprotected camera...i had no choice

but to shoot from a distance through the surrounding spruce trees. this

is the one shot that i salvaged...but i felt it was worth the treacherous

hike to the bottom of the canyon. hope you do too! thanks for viewing

and offering your comments and critiques1

A very different image. Because of the volume of water, it almost looks like you are 'looking through a window W/ curtains (backwards) at the trees. If you get my drift??? Didn't know quite how to explain it.  I really like this shot.

Kind regards, Gail

Gail, I hadn't "seen" this photograph in the terms you described it, but yes...I do understand what you're saying, and I think it fits perfectly.  I'm happy that you like this picture, as it's among my all-time favorites photographs that I've taken. Thanks!  John
