human images 4 Posted August 17, 2009 that belongs at the very top of your portfolio, and quite the departure from your theatrical productions... Even if the slightly slanted pole is at first view discordant (and on second view as well - I respect your choice, of course - but to my eyes it would make sense to align it, since it, and the horse, are the visuals that ground the photograph) regardless, there is a dreamy surreal atmosphere here that I find beautiful. Beautiful. Link to comment

j_sevigny 0 Posted August 20, 2009 This is a really fascinating photograph, Adam. I like the slant to the pole. If you changed it, the horizon would be crooked and someone else would complain. This has a darking sense of space. It's not a picture of a single object. It's a place and a moment, which is what we want, right? My only complaint is I wish the horse was either white, or standing a step or two back from the post, because he sort of blends with it in a way that confuses the eye. I urge you to keep working with these kinds of interesting compositions. Link to comment
defrang 0 Posted August 20, 2009 I hear what your saying J, I do have a few more versions of this image and on most you can see the clear outline of the horses head, but this one just felt right, in the others the light pole is cut off and the shot is not as wide, I will share another version soon, I would like to know what you and Carlos think reguarding which image is more compelling. human images 4 Posted August 23, 2009 Hi J. . . there is a command in Photoshop - Edit, Skew, Distort or Perspective - which allows for slight adjustments of vertical perspectives without affecting other elements. Adam. . . I'm looking forward your next upload. Link to comment
