Thanks, ladies! Wow, you both paid me the supreme compliment....thanks so much! And I almost didn't even submit this because I didn't think it was 'real' photography! I'm about to get a new editing program (CS4), so I hope to be able to 'play' with a lot more abstract stuff when that comes. Thanks so much to both of you!

I think you've done a lovely presentation here...the colors and patterns are so unique and it is so well presented!!!!! All of your work is beautiful and I will be visiting more as I get more time....I'm finding it hard to even edit an image.......but be proud of this one.....I love what you've come up with and am sure there is more 'alterations' in you...just dying to come out......sincerely, Gail

Hi there.

I find this image extremely visually enticing. A great abstract. Very well done. Thanks for the kind comments on my new daughters pictures that you made the other day.

Best regards,

Faced with three thumbnails - I was deciding between the horse-shoe bend image and this and I chose this one. Lovely work and it looks like multi-colored chocolates. looking forward to seeing your 3rd creation.

Wow! I love it! This is wonderful. Are you familiar with the Russian abstract painter Wassily Kandinsky? This reminds me of one of his early paintings, Farbstudie Quadrate. Looking forward to seeing what you post next.

All the best, Linda

Pretty cool image Christal. Curious what it was to start with, but no matter really. It's now a work of art. Fabulous work.

All the best,

Neil

I appreciate all of your support for this image. Now if I could only remember what technique I used for it! I tried so many different things, and my program doesn't record the steps. So I'll have to try to recreate this at some point.

Neil, this was simply a piece of petrified wood from the Petrified Forest in Arizona. It had just rained (which is rare there), so the colors were more prominent than usual. Glad you enjoyed this! (I tried to attach this but couldn't figure out how to do it. I reduced the size of the image way down, and it's still telling me it's too large.....will try to figure it out.)

I'm trying once again to attach the original image. I had to reduce the size such that it now appears quite out of focus, which it is not in my original. But you can at least get an idea of where all the colors came from.

It appears you are well on your way to success with a new form of art. You chose a good original subject to use for this one. Very nice work.
