This is "Doc." He's an actual medical doctor, and a fellow photographer.

He chose these shoes early in the morning, in the dark, while loading

up his car to show his work at weekend market where he regularly

exhibits. Thanks for visiting, and for watching me continue to fight with

B&W conversions.

just a few more steps I think and you´ll be joining us out there on the streets rather than putting on some wellies and scaring some unsuspecting pheasants . That´s some dandy b_w Matt, perfect.

Looking at the photo one might suspect that Doc is sixty plus, slim built, a diabetic maybe, about 5,5 - 6 feet tall and wearing a goatee and suffering from chronic back pain. How am I doing so far.

Hey, thanks, guys.

Ton: I just happened to see Doc again today. Just an hour ago, at one of the markets where he sells his prints (mostly landscapes, architecture, and flower macros - and he prints them all from scans of slow Fuji slide film that he puts through a Nikon F3, just in case you want to know more about how his brain works). So, just to help you out with fine tuning your forensics:

Yes! He's in his late 60's. Yes, he's trim, and close to six feet tall. But no, not diabetic - he thought it was funny you guessed that (he's a urologist)! He thought maybe you picked up on that from the skin tones, but figured you couldn't have known that he's from Thailand. He also liked the bad back guess, but says that his whole gene pool has evolved while wearing flat sandals, so not to worry, the boat shoes in the picture feel just like home, and don't hurt his back. But he gave you full credit for looking out for him! -Matt

At first I thought both the shoes were of the same pair. After staring at it for a while, realized the difference. Good "trick" photography. I am sure the image can be used in some brain study experiment.

as you know I was just having a bit of fun but some things were guestimates. The different shoes were obvious, hence the hint at possible back problems. It wasn't so much his skin color but the spots on his shin that made me think he might possible be a diabetic while the hight issue and built were a fairly safe guess.

Anyway he does sound like a great guy. Give him my regards.

The comments on your photo btw were not fun though, those I meant.

Matt,

Love this picture. Never really thought about taking a picture of feet/shoes but this came out really nice. The mismatch shoes makes this picture very interesting.

Great shot! Very inspirational for me, as I just got a wide angle lens and this is the sort of thing I'd like to try.
