Nice soft lighting and a charming face. I know her hands need to rest on something, not so sure the net stocking knee to chest works so well within the total casual nature, personal gut feeling. Just a personal impression,(which I have a lot of lately) I call me Professor Nitpic :-). I like her enameled earrings that match the blouse and the eyes. The corrective eyeglasses suggest she would not place them on her head unless they were sunglasses, so I think it would have been better mayvwe to grab and hold them for her..

Igor.I take it this was what they call a "grab shot." not a staged production So my criticism is probably too seriuos for your casual portrait...the moment was there. You were there,. What a pretty girl! You have focused well on her eyes. Her skin tone is very good. The background is nicely out of focus which draws attention to your subject. She is nicely separated from your background. Cropping into her head allows you to crop tightly on the bottom, which you have done -- very good. You have good top and bottom balance.

This photograph is a little right heavy. Your subject should have more room in front of her than behind. This allows her to be facing into the picture, not out of it. You have done this, but a little too much. You want to compositionally balance the left and right sides of the photograph. The compositional "rule" for this suggests that you position the tip of the subject's nose in the vertical center of the photograph. There are some light areas in the background which draw attention away from your subject.

Avoid having the flat of the hand towards the camera. An open hand with the edge of the hand towards the camera is thinning, feminine and graceful. The little finger side of the hand photographs best because the smallest finger is towards the camera.

Be careful of foreshortening. Watch for anything closer to the camera than the body. Feet, knees, hands, elbows and shoulders will look out of proportion (larger than normal -- foreshortened) to the rest of the body if they are in front of the body.

Her hands and knee together drawn that close to the body is a lot of skin area. It is almost as large an area as her face. It therefore competes with her face for the viewer's attention. This appears to be a very awkward pose. It doesn't seem natural at all.

I like the sharpness of her eyes, but they need catch lights to give them life. She is not making eye contact with the camera (viewer). She is looking a little to the right and above the viewer. If not making eye contact with the camera (viewer), the eyes should follow the line of the nose. Thoughtful or reflective posing works well in a storytelling portrait. This portrait is not telling a story.

The lighting is soft and pretty, but her nose is getting more light than the rest of her face. This makes her nose stand out. It should be toned down a bit.

The copyright symbol, your name and the date are not part of the photograph. They should be on the mat.

Wow, all the suggestions have already been given! What can I say.... great expression and eye contact, and she's very beautiful!

Fantastic exposure, and her beauty makes this image espectacular!

I like this one and feel that square was a good choice. For me it is not bad, that she's looking somewhere else that straight into lensens, it feels more soft, and natural because of it. But sometimes I just like this kind of photos, so it affects my point of view. Anyway - good one!
