Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted August 14, 2009 Thanks for your nice comments. My wife and I waited 2.5 hours for a sunset that didn't happen. We were fortunate to get this light, though. Link to comment
ipegasus99 2 Posted September 10, 2009 This is an incredible shot, bravo 7/7. Thank you for your comment on my Lake Katherine image. I can see how darkening the sky creates a dramatic sceen. I appreciate your suggestions. All the best, Janet Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted September 10, 2009 Thanks, Janet. We waited over 2 hours for the sunset on this image. This is the best that the sun got. I'm glad you liked my suggestion on your Lake Katharine image, Link to comment

Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted November 5, 2010 Thanks for looking at this image Roger and Zollner. Tufa is a unique calcium carbonate growth that grows out from under the water. Mono Lake just east of Yosemite in California has wonderful specimens. I waited for the sun to set for three hours. This nice light was a reward for patience. Link to comment
roger_reyes 0 Posted November 17, 2010 One of the best image of Mono Lake I have ever seen. The light is really fantastic. And the lighted rocks really glowed and stand out with that deep blue tone of the water and the sky. Another masterpiece, my friend. Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted November 18, 2010 Thanks, Roger, for looking at this again. My wife will testify that we waited three hours to get a decent image. I value your critique. Link to comment
plangereis 0 Posted November 24, 2010 Hi Larry. I agree that this is a very exceptional image of Mono Lake. I hope you don't mind but I wanted to post a cropped version as I felt there was a little too much water below the rock formations. I also cropped a little of the right to get rid of that one bright cloud on that side. For me it was taking my eye out of the image. I also felt that without this bright spot on the right side that the lovely clouds on the left balanced better with the highlighted rocks. let me know what you think.Paul Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted November 24, 2010 Hi Paul, To mix a metaphor, I guess it's a matter of visual taste. I like your version, but mine also. My reason for not cropping is that I like the gold reflection on the water. The bright cloud on the right is an enhancement to me, not a distraction. Either way, I value your contribution and comment. The purpose of PN to me is to get us thinking about our images through the perceptions of others, so thanks. I appreciate your help. Link to comment
