I really like this shot from Glacier Point. It was still closed last year when I shot the Valley. Now I got to get back there! Excellent capture with nice lighting on the face of Half-Dome...Ansel would have like this one...RAY

A truly beautiful photo. Lighting conditions most unusual and striking. Extra points for resisting the temptation to juice it a bit with added contrast or saturation.

Thanks for providing the large, detailed image....and for sharing the EXIF information. If I can ever do something even remotely that good with my D80 I'll feel, finally, some satisfaction.

Michael,   Thanks for your nice comments.  Our trip to Yosemite, eventful and exciting as it was, is drifting into the past.  I understand that the park may be limiting visits to Glacier Point where this image was taken due to danger from landfalls.  I don't know the details.   I admire Michael Frye's images on Yosemite.  I have found them most helpful in improving my images.  You can look at his web site or Michael Frye's two books: The Photographer's Guide to Yosemite and In the Footsteps of Ansel Adams and the Great Masters.  I think they are both available from either the Ansel Adams Gallery at Yosemite, Amazon, or your independent bookseller.  Thanks again and best to you.  Larry
