Beautiful b/w portrait, Liz. I like her expression, the light and the DOF. Excellent photograph! Best regards!

Beautiful and expressive portrait with amazing lighting and great details. A presentation with very high quality of bw tonality. Best regards.

Very nice portrait. my humble suggestion is to remove the wooden frame on the left which is out-of-focus. that makes the photo more "crisp". compliments -koushik

Nice job, Liz. I believe that you presented this young lady in a beautiful light. I agree with a cropping suggestion, but I would tighten up the right side of the image, not the left. The right side is in focus and should not receive our attention. It would also move the tip of her nose closer to the center, which would make for a better presentation. You would then have to darken the background to compensate a bit. I'll try to attach a square frame for the cropping suggestion. See if you like it. This of course is only a different point of view. Liz: Overall good composition, tighter cropping as suggested would rally help. What I like is the tonal range and the sharpness of the earring. II did a quick levels adjustment in PS as another alternative. Tom

I used Nik capture V1.3 so i did not provide details as i suspect you do not use this software which came with my Nikon D300 when i purchased it. . Perhaps you can try it with Photoshop - I used noise reduction which smoothed out the whole image and then i painted back the areas where i wanted good definition.
