Well seen, and composed ! Attractive colors (and color contrast, yet barely visible). if your intention was the strong, saturated signal color against the dull background, I would not change anything. But there is enough blue to be revamped by a little LAB PS magic for stronger color contrast.

Nicely done! That modification hadn't even entered my head but I like the result. You've increased the colour contrast simply by increasing the saturation of the blue. Let's leave both results for others to ponder & hopefully comment on. Best, LM.

Would you have bothered to photograph this or simply passed it by?

Your views\critiques will be gratefully received. Best, LM.

My answer would be yes, absolutely I would take this photo if I had the opportunity! My only comment would be that there appears to be a slight dullness of colour which is taking away from the (what should be IMHO) a more vibrant red against the wooden deck and sea. Just my opinion though. I hope you don't mind me saying. I also like Carsten's version, it does enhance the blue of the sea and heighten the contrast between the red and blue. (I just edited this post because I tried something that i originally suggested but found Carsten's version to work better.) Great composition and subject! Thanks for sharing. Cheers, anthea :)

Thanks for stopping in on your way by. Happy to know you have a bent for subject matter like this. Carsten is levels above my abilities in photography so I always pay attention to his sage advice. It's the main reason I keep him on staff! :-) With your similar ideas it appears we are developing a consensus on how this one should be presented. I'll certainly refer back to this advice when\if I decide to print this one. Don't be a stranger! Best, LM.
