Christal1664882414 0 Posted August 11, 2009 This is a perfect example of how a great photo can be elevated to another level by a simple and effective title! I love it! Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted August 11, 2009 Jim, and the odd fly too, Thank you, I'm glad to hear you like it. Some of the bikers I see on the road look quite intimidating. These guys were at the local fruit stand and I heard them say they wanted to get ice-cream next, more "Mild Ones" than "Wild Ones" so I asked them if I could take some shots of them leaving. They seemed delighted. MJ, THREE! Impressive. You make me laugh. I haven't "putted" for many, many years, since my husband dumped me in a mid-intersection clogged with traffic, so humiliating. These days we stick to fishing. I see a lot of young women riding their own Harley's these days and I think that is wonderful. Gail, thank you. Good to hear from you. Sumon, thanks. It is good to hear from you too. Christal, thank you. I don't think this is a great photo, but I had fun taking it, and I was happy with how it turned out when I converted it. I got to eat a bit of road dust too as they left a cloud in their wake. I would like to take some shots of really bad bikers but I am afraid to talk to them. I think these guys were retired accountants. Thank you all for your comments. Best wishes. Linda Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted August 11, 2009 I'll tell you why I like this so much.....I should have done that the first time. :-) I love the structure of this photo....there is a strong component of 'three's' here. The 3 lights on the front bike with that interesting visor, the 3 bikers in a triangular formation, and the very posture with their body and both arms on the handlebars forming yet another triangle. The dirt road, flying dust, DOF.....all great! It's just a shame that you didn't get their contact info, as I'm sure they would have loved to receive a copy of this. I've found that bikers (unless you get the ones in the mean gangs) are very approachable.....generally fascinating people. Sounds like these guys are real teddy bears. :-) Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted August 12, 2009 Thank you again. That is interesting about the threes, I didn't notice that. You are right about the contact info. I wish I had thought to do that before they left. I think they were local, so maybe I'll bump into them sometime. I hope so, they probably would like to have copies, they do look rather cool. I think you are right about bikers being approachable, interesting people. I will stay away from the ones who look like they are in gangs. All the best. Link to comment

jeffl7 0 Posted August 18, 2009 -Rider. Dangerous. All that kicked up dust can damage your sensor. And then who knows what you might shoot. Link to comment

dgv 1 Posted August 19, 2009 Impressive picture Linda and a very good title..there is a whole culture associated with bikes in almost every country..whether Marlon Brando made it more glamorous is debatable...your title underlines the good side of this culture...the love of machines and the open road... mmene 0 Posted August 22, 2009 I agree with Dimitris, so I must emphasize in the perfect composition and grey tones. I feel the dust. Bravo Linda. Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted August 24, 2009 Dimitris, thank you. There is an outlaw culture associated with bikers. From what I have seen in the last decade is mostly retired middle-aged men and some women. I think that the feeling of freedom and riding down an open road would have a lot of appeal. Michael, thank you! Good to hear from you. Did I mention I ate a bit of that dust! Link to comment
Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted November 10, 2009 Nice tones and composition here, Linda. Well done. Link to comment
