I love your work, Andrey. I'm more of a diligent worker bee. You are more creative then I'll ever be, but that's okay. Thanks for sharing your work and gifts. David

Wow, what a beautiful picture. The shadow of the fence on her face definitely adds a touch of mystery. Very creative and original.

There is little that I can add that has not already been said. This is a stunningly captivating work. The lighting. particularly the chain-link fencing shadow, really puts a lot into this image. I must also say the pose is quite riveting, I find it difficult to remove my eyes from hers, yet the image is cropped to allow all to be seen with very little eye movement. IMHO another outstanding work from a gifted artist.

An eye catching photograph, however I am troubled by the demarcation line of the projected light from the left and the ambient lighting. It is not smooth at all. In fact, it reminds me of a scar across the subject's forehead. I also feel the hair or shadow of a hair across the girl's eye is distracting. I would clone it out, I think. Never the less, It is an appealing photograph and one that is difficult to stop looking at. No needs for cropping here.

This shot has tremendous detail and sharpness in the subject's eyes, and that's what makes it a great image for me.

Good shot, according to the composition-well management and gesture...The posture of face is beautiful and the half of it show the calm side and relaxation and the semi side of it shows the character with violence and regular environment`s of life...These are my personal opinion and I wrote what I felt...In fact,I joy and like the shot and this impress me too much.

Thnx for sharing the strenghness...Regards(Bobby).

That is excellent, love the play with the shadows of the fence, and the eyes are superb, great detail and really captivating.

I know this works for some, but I'm not one of them. Technically, the image is outstanding. The tonal range is complete from light to dark. The composition keeps the viewer's eye solidly in the frame.

However, the use of the chain link fence as a cookie to generate a selective area of shadow which creates a feeling of division across the facial plane might have been a bit too intense. It also creates some discordance in the flow and feel of the light acros the image. Some explanation of your intended purpose would be appreciated.

this picture is strong and striking... Not very natural at the same time, as if Photoshop would have been used somehow to underline or add emphasis to the left vs. right separation of light.... but perhaps I'm wrong and this is actually 100% natural lighting... I'd like to know...
With that said, I think I'd like the left-right opposition to be a little more gentle and a little less "calculated"... I feel at the same time that her eyes are strongly pulling me IN this picture, and at the same time the left-right lighting opposition gives an horizontal reading to this portrait... Can we at the same time feel pulled in - back to front or front to back movement - and be reading the same image from left to right and right to left ? Apparently yes, but it feels somehow uncomfortable...
Should viewing a picture always be "comfortable" ? Definately not ! So now is this double and contradictory movement a strong point or a weakness of this composition...? I'm not sure yet. At first sight, I'd say it's more of a strong point... But if this picture was hanging on my wall, what would it be after hours and hours of viewing...? Not sure... I wonder... maybe I'll know more by the end of this week... At any rate it's a truly interesting photo for a photographic discussion - and a picture that has the merit of really trying something strong and different... Definately a very good photo in that sense...

I also believe it's a masterpiece.
My interpretation is that the soft light side of the young lady symbolizes innocence, and the light with chain link shadows the harsh reality of the city.

Last night I sliced it in half, threw away the chainlink side, flipped the right side (our right, her left) and then joined it together with the original see get a sense of whether or not it would have been a good photograph under normal lighting conditions. It was. The girls face might therefore be strongly responsible for our reactions. It has both childlike and mature qualities. The fact that it is strangely illuminated makes it more intriguing and more or less catapults it into a different kind of experience.

I not am going win any popular contests here.

I think this photo is ok because the chain link fence for me ruins the strong girl's face. Her eyes draws you into the photo but the shadows of the fence, intersecting the eye, the nose and lips is really distractive for me. There is really a beautiful photographed, only half now because of the other half is cover over a shadow the chain linked fence.

nice lighting, just not a big fan of making young people look older than they are, think about it for a few momments and enjoy them as they are.

here's what I mean. This is just to show what it might have looked like without the chainlink shadows, to illustrate the appeal of this face by itself and how much it contributes to the posted image. I'm not suggesting it should have been shot this way, but I think it's obvious that the light and shadows were not necessary for a striking portrait. I also think it's obvious that the light and shadows rock this portrait out of the park.

Brilliant work Andrey. Not only it's pin sharp with excellent skin tones, as a result of the fine lighting and exposure, but also it's intriguing. The shadow of the wire fence creates a very curious pattern on face that almost splits the frame in two.Regards
