David, the contrast between cool trees and warmth and heat of the sky with the tinge of black is complementary, one to the other. It's restful

Rarely do such diagonal shots turn out as attractive as they have here. Perhaps it is due to your composition. The large boulders anchor the frame; the darker areas of the forest do not disturb as the brightest areas of the sky loom above them; the sky itself has great texture and tone as it descends to the lower slope of the forest which is quite evenly lighted. Between land and sky there is perfect balance. A very pleasing landscape...
