Guest Guest Posted August 9, 2009 Powerful image. The white shirt works well, especially offsetting his white hair, which captures the light quite nicely, the hair still maintaining its texture, nicely framing his head against the solid black background. The perspective gives this a powerful feel, evoking strength. Though it's a strong portrait, there are two elements feeling just a little too strong that I don't think add to the overall strength. His collar seems a little too bright, and the darkest part of the shadow on his face feels a little overwhelming, a bit more like charcoal than shadow. The backlighting on the far side of his head, accenting that patch of hair, is very effective and visually pleasing. It adds a touch of spirit that comes through the intensity of the portrait. iavor_paskalev 0 Posted August 30, 2009 Definitly perfect work with the skin and light - the image has increadible character. One of the best! Congradulations, Bill ! A lot of your images have special dignity, which I like and here it's very strong! Only the white in the shirt is that bothers me. Regards,Iavor Link to comment
william_staniforth 0 Posted August 30, 2009 Thank you very much Lavor , white is always a problem . Maybe if I could shield the light some way ... I'll have to think about that ! Link to comment
