What a great atmosphere you have captured in this wonderful image Chris. The big cliffs/mountains as background and the amazing house high up sets the scene for all the holiday people on the beach. Some of them camping in tents as I see it and some strolling around. Beautiful mood with those somber volors and the sharp details on the gravel. The waves that breaks is just another detail that your artistic eye did mot miss. Great work dear friend and a favorite. Take good care and all the best to you and your family from Jannica

It looks like a storm with the waves flowing to the shore. The atmospher is beautiful and convincing. The sight of the mountains , the house up there, and the human figures, all are subject to the blurring weather. The dark color palette fits, and nice to see some points of red animating a bit the whole.

You've created a very good atmosphere here with the beautiful cliffs as backdrop, as was mentioned, the touch of red gives the viewer a slight relief from the overall dark mood of this work.....Regards

PN won't allow me to give out any sevens for a little while (crazy rules) but then the world is not perfect. This is a lovely image with lots of mood, human interest textures and gradations on the hill side. I would be willing to hang this on my wall. The anon folks have this pegged below five which is difficult to fathom but then again we live in the world of 'art'. You must be aware of the D300 has D-light which I leave on high and I process my RAW with capture v1.3. You can probably achieve the same thing with the software tools you have. I am presuming that you lost some highlights on the bottom left. Charlie Waite says that a little loss of highlight is not significant and he is a very successful commercial photographer. I don't point this out to nit-pik - but to offer the only potential area that MIGHT be ameliorated. best regards,

I just read your link to your concerns about ratings - I hope did not expose a 'nerve'. Have a good night!
