I really played hide and seek with this pine tree for a while: the

thick fog was moving forth and back just like waves on a shoreline.

Taken a few days ago in the Alpi Marittime natural park, another

wonderful wild area of the western Alps in Piedmont, Italy.

Your C&C are as always highly appreciated, thanks in advance for your

time.

Details: EOS 50D, Tokina ATX-Pro 12-24 f4, GND 4x, tripod. Single

frame, single exposure.

I must correct myself, this IS the all time record. The second 4/4 appeared right away the first one. Come on guys, use your imagination, 3 is the perfect number after all

Ahhh Paolo... If there are no names, the rating doesn't mean anything!

As for this photo, it's very well captured with the bright stones and grass leading the eye to the cloud bank. I know the tree is purposely located at the "thirds" but I like this in a 5x7 ratio (from the bottom) with a portion of the clouds removed. Just a thought... but it's excellent as is... Mike

Cropping some of the sky is a possibility, but would probably change the feeling of emptiness that it conveys regarding the lonely tree, so I say leave it as is. I can't think of much to improve, it isn't the most original photograph, but it is unique enough to hold my interest. The aesthetic quality is as good as it could be, so I vote 7/6. As far as this receiving 4/4's, well whoever doled out those scores probably can't count higher than 4, so there you go!

Ahah Mark! Well, seen in this way, that's the higher score they could give! So I just have to be flattered for that, right? ;-))

Thanks mate, and thanks everyone else for your comments, that's highly appreciated.

Wonderful image Paolo; the flowing/blurred creak gives a wonderful path into the image and contributes to the great sense of depth. The single tree emerging from the mist is an excellent focal point.

All the best,

Mike

Nice scene with a great mood. I love fog shots and this is a very nice one Paolo! The tree is an important part of the composition and the colorful rocks top it off. Well done.

Has conseguido un color perfecto, muy llamativo, unido a una encudre magifico. Uso magistral de las velocidades lentas. Muchas felicidades

Ciao Paolo, splendida immagine!

Saluti,

Alberto.

Very well seen and well captured image. The portrait orientation works well and I like the pleasant colors and slightly blurred water. Well done, Paolo!Best regards, Rob

I looked at this and went "very nice". Love the colours and the colour of the sky is amazing. I like the lead up from the rocks in the foreground to the tree. Overall a lovely photograph.
