Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted August 4, 2009 i'm shocked at this document... they have allowed this modern monstrosity to mar my view of that grand arch!... the 'monstrosity' on its own could perhaps enjoy its singular splendor, i think i would have quite liked it then... ...great photograph, a stunning juxtaposition of the old and the new... well-balanced in a way Link to comment
rlopezmoral 1 Posted August 4, 2009 Two cultures mixed in a great composition ... very well seen, Andrea. The B&W tones are the dessert .. Best regards. Link to comment
jmarcraveau 0 Posted August 5, 2009 Interesting juxtaposition of these two pieces of art. Very nice image. Regards, Jean-Marc Link to comment

blue-olympus 0 Posted August 5, 2009 Excellent demonstration of how "they can't build like they used to",... great idea to include the figure to the left....Regards Link to comment
smigliori 0 Posted August 5, 2009 Andrea come sempre grande colpo d'occhio e grande capacità compositiva. Le "colature" sbiadite sull'opera moderna indicano il possibile "dissenso" sulla scelta del suo posizionamento davanti all'arco di Costantino (magari è solo acqua). Complimenti. Stefano. wieslawmamon 0 Posted August 5, 2009 Really striking contrast between the styles of the two pieces of art, rounded shapes and ample forms of the figure's body in the foreground and richly decorated, full of details arc in the background create an interesting and even a bit humorous juxtaposition as, thanks to the clever pov, the figure looks nearly as large as the arc. The dark sky also contrasts well with the lightness of the monuments giving them additional dignity. The triumph is not only present in the symbolism of the arc but also is noticeable on the figure's face. I think leaving a man on the left was a good idea,he gives the sense of scale here. Creative work which proves that popular and frequently photographed objects can be presented in an original way. Compliments Andrea, best regards-wm Link to comment
andrea-de-bonis 6 Posted August 5, 2009 thanks everybody - and sorry if i'm late - for all the observations. your words makes this photo more important than it is... about the figure, appreciate by Keith and Wieslaw, to be honest i didnt see it shooting. i just waited for a moment without tourists.... here the idea was to find 2 differents kind of bw, to magnify the difference and the distance between the arch and the sculpture. ciao! d.ravalico 0 Posted August 6, 2009 Immagine d'impatto tremendo, con un tutto a fuoco dal primo piano allo sfondo. Un abbraccio Diego Link to comment
