Fantastic scenery, colors and use of light. Not sure about the selective focus. However, very attractive capture and pp result! Compliments - El

Very nice work! I prefer the whole image being in focus.

Wonderful work, Mike. I tried to give a '7' but the system wouldn't take it, I'm afraid. Nonetheless I feel this is a very creative and pleasing piece of work. At first sight I thought it was a shot of very well constructed model railway, but I guess that's a lot to do with the short d.o.f.. My compliments and regards, Chris

Thanks Bob!

Thanks El and Didi. Yes I’m not sure myself about the focus. This was my first attempt at the ‘miniature effect’ and I don’t think I’ve got it quite right yet.

Thanks Ovidiu and Jon– I think the increased saturation has helped with that but perhaps I need to tweak it up a bit more to help remove any doubt about that it’s really a model train set!

Cheers Chris and thanks for the encouragement. This was my first attempt so I’ll keep at it.

All the best,

Mike

Mike, Great use of that technique, and it is so simple, I saw it in a UK mag "Digital Photo" I get monthly. Strangely enough I was playing with a couple of shots I took from my hotel room in Hong kong which I was planning to post. now seeing yours I have deferred that plan!!! This shot is great I had to look twice to check it was not a model..nice work as always Regards Clive

Fairy tale like setting and very beautiful. As others have expressed, I think a sharp focus throughout the photo might be better in this situation. Well done.

Thank you all very much for your thoughts and comments.

I’m glad you liked it Clive. Please let me know when you post your ‘miniature’ shots, I’d love to see them.

Cheers Warren – I’ll post the ‘non-miniature’ version below for comparison.

Thanks Jill. This one was left unprocessed for some time as I have previously worked on and posted two portrait orientations that seemed to suit the subject. I started to work on this one because I was looking for an image that might suit my experiments with the ‘miniature effect’.

Thanks Paolo!

All the best,

Mike
