ldavidson 4 Posted August 3, 2009 Record breaking temperatures, 40C (104F) raging forest fires, smoke here in British Columbia make life difficult for man and beast. These two are seeking some shade. Thanks for looking. Link to comment

Not Here 93 Posted August 4, 2009 Linda.... Nice shot and these two do look kinda puzzled and wilted. 104F in Canada... I'm impressed; next thing we know it'll be snowing here in Alabama! As it is, we've had a relatively cool Summer, only in the lower 90's most days. Anyway, good luck to y'all in the heat... Mike Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted August 4, 2009 Pierre, thanks for stopping by, it is good to hear from you. Mike, thank you. We live in the hottest and dryest part of Canada. It is usually up to the mid-thirties (celcius) in the summer, this year it is hotter and dryer than usual. This is a big environmental problem, a direct result of Global warming. Right now we are surrounded by raging forest fires and I'm hoping we don't have to evacuate. Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted August 5, 2009 handsome animal(s)... attractive composition with pleasing light and hues... the parched ground and the flat blue of the sky, the dull green of the leaves, all suggest the drought conditions... i particularly like the softness of the image and would like to compliment you on not sharpening the photograph as many would have Link to comment

Donna Stavis 0 Posted August 6, 2009 Are you ever just amazed by the beauty of animals? The one in the shade, in particular, is so gorgeous. Hot here too on the in Eastern U.S. and humid. Nice composition. Hope things cool down for you all. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 6, 2009 Rich browns and suttle hues make for a stunning image.. The shot is well composed wish the pine in from of the brown mare was out of the way to catch more of the eye. I like the exposure give the high sun you were dealing with cast direct shadowns making it hard to spot meter . Well done work and nice frame of th the subject... Again thanks for reviewing my work and I do appreciate the time you take to comment or rate... It is most rewarding when someone takes the time regardless of the score of commnet it is all about the time... Always wishing you the very best MJ Link to comment

jtipton 0 Posted August 7, 2009 I sure can relate to these horses Linda. Great shot. There probably happier now that it cooled down a few degrees. Hope your keeping cool as well. All my best-Jim Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted August 7, 2009 Donna, I am always amazed by the beauty of animals. It has cooled down a bit, hope it lasts. Thank you! MJ, thank you. I was there for some time, these two didn't move a muscle. I agree it would have been a better image if I had got the whole face in view without the pine branch. Thanks for noticing that and pointing it out, I appreciate helpful criticism. Pnina, thank you for visiting and commenting. Diego, it is good to hear from you. Thanks for commenting. Jim, I sure hope so. I worry about the animals that are out on the range not having enough water. All their water holes are dustbowls. I have to trust that they are being taken care of by their owners. I am just grateful for the miricle of air-conditioning. When the temperature goes above 30C I feel the life drain out of me, and my brain stops functioning. Thanks for commenting. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted August 7, 2009 Hunkering down. I particularly like the expression on the front horse, solid but tired. Link to comment
