The Perfect Mountain - Alpamayo

My favorite image of Peru's Alpamayo taken during a short window of

clearing after sunrise. It appeared like a ghost and vanished just as

quickly. I preffered the B&W version, as it shows off the form a bit

better. Your impressions welcome.

I also prefer this B&W version. You've rendered a very striking tonal contrast between the shadowed and sunlight faces of this magnificent peak. In general, you've been on quite a roll with these Andes images, Harry! I'm sorry I haven't been able to take the time to comment on them all properly.

Thanks John, & no worries. I find it difficult to comment on all of the images I'd like to - there are a ton of them! Ihave many more from this trip, but it has taken me some time to get them from camera to web.

Wow! This is exemplary. The light models the forms of the peak so wonderfully – beautifully handles exposure and contrast.

 

I might consider pushing the upper right sky even darker.

I've seen many good shots of this peak and this is as good as they come, great light and very nice black and white treatment. Did you climb it?
