Not Here 93 Posted August 2, 2009 David... A stunning child and portrait - love the wild hair! :-) My monitor, which is suppose to be calibrated is picking up some magenta along the lower eye lids and a tad on her cheeks and fingers. What do you see there?... Regardless, very well done... Mike Link to comment
david_l._forney 0 Posted August 2, 2009 Thank you Michael. You are correct. A magenta hue in the dress as well. I reduced the effect slightly. She is so pale, the color balance is fragile. Minor adjustment one place and something goes wrong elsewhere, and I masked, and masked and masked. Stopping for now and will come back to it another time. Thanks again. David Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted August 2, 2009 couldn't agree more with Michael about the child portrait being stunning! If i look real hard i 'see' some magenta along the lower eyelid of her right eye, more pronounced at a corner; no idea about my monitor's calibration status... but the magenta thing doesn't bother me really, doubt if i would have noticed it on my monitor... what does bother me is the tightness of the crop on her two sides... bottom left corner above her elbow curves in at the bottom of the frame with perhaps too thin a border, bottom right i see a sunk V with a very thin slice of green... GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted August 3, 2009 David....fantastic Portrait!!!!............simply angelic child! Everything about her speaks of a 'young beauty' and your processing makes this an even more 'appealing' and 'candid' shot. Whether she was posing or not....great expression....dramatic eye....love her curls...congrats...so well done! ..........(plse translate my 6's into 7's....system reg.'s)...sincerely, Gail Link to comment

prguarrera 0 Posted August 4, 2009 What beautiful child!! Great job capturing her stunning eyes and expression. I think the original is just fine the way it is. I also like the tight crop. Great work! Link to comment
beaz 0 Posted August 5, 2009 The expression and style are timeless and engaging. I like your B&W conversion, but I think your color version here is excellent for capturing the full freshness and life of the child. Puts me in mind of spring, wonder, and innocence. Artistically, I think the closer crop is indeed a stronger composition, but if I were the parent, I would prefer the original for the fuller sense of person and place. Pierre Dumas 264 Posted September 21, 2009 Believe it or not, I spent at least fifteen minutes looking at this cute creature with her beautiful blond curles and those blue eyes looking a little bit distrustful! Kids have a lot to show to the photographer and they so candid do, beauty, joy, innocence, curiosity and dubiety...those things which make all of your efforts worthwhile! Thanks for your recent visits and nice comments, by the way! Ciao! PDE Link to comment
