amalsircar 2 Posted August 2, 2009 Rajat, I presume the boy is playing 'danguly'? Very good timing, exposure and tone. Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted August 2, 2009 Thank You. Correct, sir. I'm trying to tone up my generally somnolent reflexes to take better action shots... Link to comment
arup 0 Posted August 2, 2009 Interesting. Speaking pic. Captured just at the right time. Link to comment
wieslawmamon 0 Posted August 2, 2009 Very good post processing and the range of tones but the biggest attraction here is the moment, great timing indeed, the boy looks like he was performing some ballet, in his pose it's easy to notice his suppleness and dexterity. A bit blurred right hand and the stick suggest movement and add dynamism to the scene. Nice job Rajat, best regards -wm Link to comment
bevip 0 Posted August 2, 2009 For me it is a beautiful image of street. If what I think this photo is real value accumulates. Can I ask if this child has problems on his left hand? Best regards Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted August 2, 2009 Thank you. I think I know what you mean. It's because of the way his fingers are curved in the photograph that it seems as if something's not right with them. They are all in order. He's playing a street game which is very popular almost everywhere in India. In fact I believe it is also played in Southern Europe, even Italy -- where I think you call it Lippa. It needs nothing by way of equipment that has to be bought. One long stick such as he has in his hand and a small stick tapered at both ends. Its there in the frame but not easily identified. The long stick is the bat and the smaller tapered one can be said to be the ball. Do you know of Lippa? Link to comment
david_l._forney 0 Posted August 2, 2009 The boy's expression is perfect. Very well balanced composition and tones. Nice image! David Link to comment

whoz_the_man_huh 0 Posted August 3, 2009 Outstanding sharpness, subject action and alignment of lines in the background. The exposure looks marvelous in black and white too. Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted August 5, 2009 Rajat, very nice movement here. If he were wearing skates he would look as if he was skating, similar graceful, gliding moves. Well done. Link to comment
