Perfectly composed and your post processing here is well suited to the scene. It seems a touch...noisy. Is that grain, noise, JPEG artifacts...? Overall, I would hang this on my wall.

John, This is one of my personal favs...so especially gratifying to hear that someone else likes it as well. I've posted it before...with mixed reviews. As to the noise...it's easiest to say that it is the result of heavy post processing.

Depending on the viewer...it's a problem or part of what makes the photo work. I did try to tone down the noise...but I lost much of the dramatic effect, so I decided the trade off just wasn't worth it. I believe that if this were printed on canvas...the grain might "disappear"...and it would make for a compelling presentation. Don't ya wish canvas prints weren't so expensive? A trial print on paper isn't so costly...canvas, another story. John

I have a funny feeling many people will like this. I am not surprised that it is one of your favourites. It is masterfully composed. I really like this.

Excellent processing and toning, and an interesting diagonal composition in two contrasting parts: the cables, linear, graphic, and  the sky, tormented and unstructured.

Very beautifully conceived and processed. Tracery of the wires is a perfect balance to the sky.

Thanks, gentlemen!  I took this shot and processed it almost 4 years ago, but never put it up for critique.  If you've never seen this bridge, and you like architecture, you owe it to yourself to Google it...or better yet, visit Charleston (my favorite place in the states to visit).  I consider the bridge to be a piece of sculpruture, and I didn't want to portray it as just another bridge. At the time I took the picture I was just learning to use my camera...so I missed a lot of good shots that I might be able to pull off now.  So I have to get back to Charleston.  As for the PP...I doubt that I could duplicate it again if I had to.  It was the result of a lot of amateur playing around...but I was pleased with the result.   I'm glad your appreciate the picture, and I appreciate your taking the time to comment.  Regards to all...John
