First Light - Machu Picchu
Peru's Machu Picchu illuminated by sunrise after the sun clears the Peruvian Andes. f16, 1/16 sec., Canon 24-105L, 3 stop hard edge grad ND filter. While not a traditional point of view, I tried to find an unusual perspective that included the water aqueduct in the foreground. The channels were used to bring water to the Inca settlement from over 3 miles away. One of the other great challenges of photographing at such a visited site is avoiding people in the image. People past by prior to sunrise, rushing to other areas and seemed to congregate above me or to areas hidden from view within the ruins, giving me a clear shot.
