Less than a dozen miles up the Potomac River from Washington, DC.

There are areas where you can count on the fog to appear, but I'm still

wrestling with putting it to good use, photographically. Thanks for

feedback.

not an easy one to convert by any means but you did a very good job. Still, I wonder if there is not more to be had from those weeds. As for the rest I like the traditional kind of look here.

A very nice result for your efforts. Looks best 'Larger' and probably gets even better from there. Good decision to convert to B&W though a color version with it's muted foreground yellows and browns would have it's own appeal. Looks like a scene most would pass by while on a quest for some subject matter to photograph. Good on you. Puts me in mind of something Carsten Ranke would come up with. Simple yet elegant! The diminishing row of trees tapering off into the fog actually provides the glue that holds this one together in my opinion. Best, LM.

Thanks, all. I've decided that I'm going to make the most of this particular spot and its habit of collecting mist. When this fall comes around, the fog will be regular and thick - and I've got half a mind to work in some deliberate people shots there. It's a really visually compelling couple of thousand acres that very few people seem to know about (shhh! don't tell anyone!).

Matt, I think Ton is right that there is more to make out of this (sharpening the forefront/channel mixer/grardient) than what you presently have made. The material is surely there and I'm looking forward for more from the same scene when the autumn and winter fogs set in.

This photograph gives me the strong feeling of being there. In that field, in that fog, in that moment, in that atmosphere. Wet boots and the smell of moist green. Catching my fly in the river nearby.
