Leaves Turning in July?

LenMarriott

Tripod mounted camera, MD 135mm f3.5 wide open, polarizer. Leaves appear to be turning colour prematurely but perhaps that is just the way new leaves of this variety of maple behave. Best, LM.

Well composed, your crop encloses in-focus leaves and their out-of focus counterpart perfectly. Nice bokeh wide open, beautiful colors and color contrast. BTW, we have some premature harvest colors here, too (temperature dependent ?)

As I indidcated in my 'details', my second thought on these coloured leaves is that perhaps they are simply a variety of maple that start out reddish and turn green on maturing. I don't recall any maple varieties turning colour this early in the season but with the weird weather this year who knows? Thanks for taking the time. Best, LM.

Len, everything is possible these days due to global warming:-) Most unexpected natural phenomenon are taking place all over the world..Very good exposure and DOF.

Thanks for the visit. Yah, Global Warming. Get's a bad rap these days. On the other hand, my grass is growing well and my heating bill is down. :-) Best, LM.

Great scene, wonderfully composed and captured. At one one point, I wondered if the the bright out of focus leaves in the background were attracting my eyes too much. On a 2nd look, I think all is very fine.

Thanks for your thoughts. I'll ponder your observation on the background brightness levels. Could be toned down easily in PS. Best, LM.

Your critiques on how this one could have been made stronger, either

pre or post exposure, will be gratefully received. Best, LM

Hi Len

Yesterday I was looking at some trees outside where I work. There is a whole row of trees with several turned leaves...whole branches in fact. My co-worker said she had never seen these trees turn so early so....who knows.

Regards, Pamela
