Another scene, photographed at the premiere of the dance ; PRIVATE COLLECTION.

Some of Sally Ann Friedland, the choreographer's words: " Our secrets collected in private hiding , places of fear, uncertainty and borders, thoughts and memories, all of them are creating a personal collage. The thin colored nets are creating a mood, light and shadows and visual barriers.

Thanks for viewing

Good subject placement in the frame & a nice neutral colour balance. Facing away from the light source her face is partially hidden, the mystery of her fears concealed. She seems about to throw off the net surrounding her thus freeing herself from those fears. How's that for an interpretation from an art challanged viewer? I think I'm getting to like these images you have been presenting. :-) Best, LM.

Often our issues are so transparent that we think that we can see through and beyond them. Not so. Here, you can tell that if she doesn't watch her step, she could easily trip on the issues that surround her.

Kallol, thanks for your comment

Len, I'm glad reading your impressions, you are not the first that tells me that something changed in the attitude toward the dancing art....;-)) This is one of my best achievements. Thanks Len, it is really great!

Jeff, your psychological interpretation is interesting , close to Sally's voice , what I like is reading the different feelings, and life related points of view.

Amal, you too are connecting to Sally's words, and my interpretation of it in photography, thanks for your nice words.

I think of a wedding veil. She hides her face from us, but I'm caught up by what seems to be a pose just in the middle of action, and she looks powerful and strong. I love these latest works of yours. : )

Thanks both of you.

Donna, part of the dance is a woman/dancer/ bride, looking for the man she "lost".....it is of course an abstract but the feeling is there, so your interpretation is right....;-)) I like reading the different interpretation of the viewers.

I like how the net is getting and rendering the light...the dancer looks like trapped which is the intension...it is giving me (as viewer of this image) the desire to see the show...a pleasure to look at this serie Pnina...

an other original and well done interpretation of the dance. here the white thing (sorry, my english vocabulary have no more than 150 words) is the dance. may be the different screens, but i see a light a little bit cool. you tried to touch the white balanvce to find a warmer tonality?

Fabrizio, thanks for your feedback

Laurent, I wish you could see the dance, very original choreography , thanks for liking the series that enable a glimpse to the dancers at rehearsals and show.

Andrea, thanks, it is a white net very thin with a strong contrast vs.the dancers black clothes and body ,it looks good on my monitor... So it may be the screen differences

The veil could be her (our) heritage that protect her but limit in the same time..but that is just me. Actually, we all talk of ourselves..Fine work.

I like the way there seems to be a dialogue set up between her hand and her face, the hand getting the stronger light, drawing our attention as if something important inhabits it. Interesting choreographic design: the delicacy of the veil on her face and the front of her body is opposed by the heaviness of the veil as it hangs so thickly behind her, but then delicately trails off, and you've captured that final bit of movement nicely.

Gunnar, thanks for your feedback, and liking it.

Vladimir, " Actually, we all talk of ourselves"

This it right in a way, we are all human, the differences are in life experiences, and nuances. ...;-))

Fred, thanks for your nice commentaries . The nets are very fluid, and it depends how they are used by the dancers( going into them and out) ,the form of the net is different from one use to another ( even though the movement of the dance is kept), and it depends as well on the angle I shoot, so each photo ( with the net) is a single possibility.

Pnina;

I like the sense of motion implied by the veil trailing off behind the dancer. That aspect and the impression that she is coming out of the darkness and into the light give the illusion that she will step out of the frame. Her foot being perilously close to the edge of the image further reinforces this illusion. The hard lighting works both to accent the veil and in other places to penetrate it.
