mcclure 0 Posted July 25, 2009 I love this shot; every parent does but we never say "I hate you". The kids do. Having said that, this completely fails as a fashion shot. There shouldn't be any grain, the lighting is all wrong, and the outside should be inside. Best, John Mac Link to comment
mcclure 0 Posted July 26, 2009 I thought about what I wrote this morning and have to apologize. The comment wasn't constructive nor accurate. I've just returned to PN after a long hiatus and forgot the spirit of the site. I hope you can over look my first comment. It's interesting that I jumped to the conclusion that the woman is the mother. She could easily be an older sister or friend. The pink hair clip reduces the age of the other girl yet the gold chain seems to say the opposite. I really like this image, it's a great candid departure from the typically staged work in fashion and very believable. I feel the blown out background, soft focus on the right, and grain gets in the way but I could be completely wrong. Best, John Link to comment
nabs 0 Posted July 27, 2009 this is a great capture of a very candid moment. doesnt matter, if its a fashion scene, a tube scene, a street scene, whether the light is artificial..nothing does. what matters imho is the great expression that you have captured. i even feel the grains in the image carries the image further forward. nice work. regard.
