GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted July 24, 2009 Another boat in the "Wooden Boat Festival"....this was one of the largest of the Wooden Boats....it had just been refinished by one of the other vendors attending the Festival....they did a fabulous job or restoration. I'll be posting information about this fine group of 'Wooden Boat Lover's' shortly...comments welcome.... Link to comment

setsail728 14 Posted July 25, 2009 Beautifully maintained brightwork (nautical jargon for decorative wood). Nice composition and I like the squiggly reflections in the water!! Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted July 25, 2009 Thankyou for your comments Warren.....Glad youknow what to call everything..."my Dictionary to all that is Nautical"!.............actually I have no idea what those squiggly lines are....ropes?? will have to look at the larger pics.... tnks for your visit...always a pleasure...sincerely, Gail Link to comment

elportebonheur 0 Posted July 25, 2009 Interesting series - this one included. Nice taken close up from the stern of this fantastic renovated yacht. However, very strange for me to see a varnished teak deck.... Anyway, very nice capture! Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted July 25, 2009 DIDI - thankyou kindly for your complimentary remarks....very much appreciated...sincerely, Gail GALLEGO -....Sorry.........I have some pics of ones for Sale but they do not compare to this 'beauty'......People come to these Festivals...just for the 'love of the boat'....I boggles my mind....I have enough work taking care of the house and garden....let alone the long hours needed to keep this magnificent wooden boat in Tip Top shape...thankyou for your kind words Gallego. GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted July 25, 2009 Your enthusiasum for another's work always 'cheers' me on to 'another photo ! So nice for you to take the time to jot some positive Critique...truly means a lot....sincerely, Gail Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted July 25, 2009 Thank you for your time, and kind words of Critique. I guess traditions are different the whole world over. Corky's boat is painted.....but the 'wooden boat' is looked on as a 'treasusre' here....especially those that are well cared for. The Special Varnishes used preserve the wood very well.....it is not an 'inexpensive' hobby....I could never afford it....but I can enjoy 'looking'! sincerely, Gail Link to comment
