This will teach me to ALWAYS carry a Photog. Journal. I met so many interesting people at the Wooden Boat Festival. Candy and her husband, residents of the Port of Newcastle, had shared a Labour of Love for 7 years. They both built this beautiful wooden boat with a steam engine. As it glistened in the sun, Candy briefly told me the history of the boat. Her husband bought the engine FIRST.......well....I guess you have to either buy or make the boat for the Engine....(smart man).

Candy has my Email address and I do hope she sees this photo so she can once again fill me in on the details....It is fashioned after a boat originally built in 1911. It certainly is a testament to commitment to each other, if you can work side by side for 7 years....creating such a beautiful piece of 'history'.....then perhaps there is hope for the rest of us!!! (I'm pretty sure her name is Candy.... :-0 ! ! or I shall be terribly embarassed.

Nice details, colours and subject...Sometimes,we should take a look at our environment and find these subjects!

Thnx for sharing...Regards(Bobby).

A very nice and well captured detail from the steam engine. Your exposure really makes the brass details stand out in full glory and I like the contrast and sharpness very much. Take good care Gail and all the best from your friend in Stockholm
