Blue Heron & Muskrat

I normally don't like a busy background like this but I still thought this was pretty unusual and worth posting. I watched this Heron try to eat this muskrat for about 15 minutes he finally gave up.He couldn't fit it down his throat.

 

What a waste of a good meal. I can agree with you about the background. On the other hand the overal image quality and the rather unusual scene totaly make up for the back ground. Also althoug the water is not the subject I love the way you rendered it, so crisp and clear.

As usual fenomenal work.

I think its a great photo! Nothing wrong with the background. Honest picture.

Certainly is unusual. Even more unusual for a GBH to catch something he can't swallow. As you say, sometimes the content overrides the technicals.

A really special photo and subject. I didn't know that they can try to eat something as big for him as that.

The image is so crisp.

The background may be busy, but you are in the 'bird's habitat'............beautifully done...can't say I find it 'appetizing'.........but Hey...I'm not a Heron........wonderful shot! congrats, Gail
