Willow Creek

LenMarriott

ISO 200 film, Minolta XG-M, 135mm 3.5 @f16, 1\8 sec. tripod, minor PS tweaking. The 135mm lens was great for isolating details of the creek. I used it almost exclusively on this outing. LM.

Lovely shot, Len! I like how you permitted just the right amount of blacks in the deepest shadows and show just enough blur in the moving water.

Great to hear from you again. This one was metered manually which called for about 1\8 sec. Seems about right for flowing water. Might account for the black shadows as well since the camera's center weighted meter might tend to overexpose & lighten the shadows a tad. Best, LM.

Interesting composition, the vertical elements against horizontal lines, the soft flowing water against the sharp plants. Nice colors, but B&W is a valid alternative IMO

Len, both the versions are good. But I prefer the colored version. Reminds me of the poem by Emily Dickinson, " Have you got a Brook in your little heart".

Haven't read that one. Perhaps I should. But streams & forests do have a soft spot there. Don't be a stranger! Best, LM.

How would your approach be different? What would you do to make this

a stronger photo pre or post exposure? Best, LM.
