i think lightening the dark spots would make this more interesting. great composition & cropping. too bad the central area is so blurred, Due to the wave/ripple action???

Thanks, Kat, for kind visit and comment! The blurred water is the result of 30 seconds exposure.

It looks like you had a wonderful time at the beach and I think this is one of your more interesting photos.

 

Kat, I think your adjustments to Brad's image worked well for the dark areas but only exacerbated the lack of definition in the central area and gave us some halos along the dark edges of the pier. I will go with Brad's version as being the better one.

Captivating... and one of my Fav's in this file, Brad.... there are just so many great images here
