llgarcia 1 Posted July 19, 2009 The foreground is Laguna de Bay with high waters after a storm. The two shanties are fishermen houses. The background is the city skyline on a hazy morning a little after sunrise taken with a 300mm lens. Thanks for your thoughts. Link to comment
suriname 0 Posted July 19, 2009 Excellently captured splendid contrasts of different life's makes your photo an attractive one. Frighten differences between front and back while your perfect timing adding smoky layer between them. Of course green and reflected golden lights at foreground are just wonderful. Congratulations. Best Regards, Ertugrul Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted July 20, 2009 This is so amazingly beautiful. A very fine composition and capture and with a very good title. The old countryside with the people living of mother earth and the big city in the background in a haze of smog and fumes. Very creative, very artistic. Well done my friend. Take good care and all the best from Jannica Link to comment
gungajim 75 Posted July 20, 2009 Seems to tilt down to the left. Nice contrast of urban and rural life. GJ Link to comment

spectacle 0 Posted July 20, 2009 I can also identify myself with the underlying story of the picture.we are also facing a voracious urbanization that is called development.really thought provoking. REGARDS. Link to comment
raybrizzi 0 Posted July 20, 2009 terrific shot. the sharpness of the lowlands and the little houses give them a reality, where the city in the background seems ephemeral and not real, perhaps the feeling of the people in the houses. Link to comment
jtipton 0 Posted July 20, 2009 Beautifully captured contrast Lester. Deserves 7/7. All my best-Jim Link to comment

charly makray-rice 0 Posted July 21, 2009 good contrast in lifestyles. The sunlight on the highrise buildings serves to support the differences between the have and have nots. Good storytelling - this really should be photojournalism. Link to comment

whydangle 0 Posted July 26, 2009 Very effective composition Lester. I really like this as a documentary style of art. My only obvious observation is the tilt to the left as mentioned by an earlier post. Straighten the horizon and it is a 7/7! It is fantastic! Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted August 2, 2009 Wonderful, poignant and evocative image. Since the skyscrapers look relatively straight, I'm thinking the image is actually straight. It appears to me that the uneven horizon is actually just the far bank which angles, thus appearing uneven. It does disturb a little, but certainly doesn't overshadow this wonderful image.
