dave foster 0 Posted August 17, 2002 Beautiful shot. I love the burst of color and the moving water. I'm guessing there was no wind that day, huh. Link to comment

buck_forester 0 Posted August 21, 2002 Actually it was fairly breezy that evening (this was taken shortly after the sun had set behind a ridge), and I used my 10-second timer twice but the wind kept gusting at the last second (it always works that way, doesn't it?), so I just waited for a calm stretch and manually clicked the shutter. I think my shutter speed on this was 2 seconds, maybe 3, I'm not sure. Thanks for the compliments! Link to comment
buck_forester 0 Posted August 21, 2002 This shot was from a couple weekends ago in Desolation Wilderness (Sierra Nevadas). It was early evening which made for nice, even lighting conditions. The wildflowers were everywhere, and these flowers lined the base of a long cascade. This was taken with Velvia film and a bare lens, no filters at all. Any suggestions on composition, filters, etc.? I know there's a stem or two in there that aren't all that attractive, but I pretty much try and take shots of unaltered natural environments (i.e. I don't manipulate flowers/sticks/rocks to make them look better just for a picture). Gracias! Link to comment
jarnott 0 Posted August 22, 2002 Perfect except for maybe the flower in the LL cornertrying to get in your shot. Link to comment
james_castle 0 Posted August 22, 2002 Buck--Very nice! Do you have any wider angle shots? I feel like I would like to see a little more rock! Link to comment
