Karl Schuler 48 Posted July 18, 2009 His perception of the immediate present is sometimes astonishingly clear. But no way to link it to the recent past. Highlights of his long life flash up from time to time and mix sadly with the cognition of waning capacities. It is my father. Karl Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted July 18, 2009 Karl, very good portrait. My regards to him and best wishes to his talented son. What you describe, happens to most of the persons of advanced age. Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted July 18, 2009 Karl... A well captured portrait and a thought provoking summary that is mixed with sadness and understanding. I hope my son will be as caring when I am this age. God Bless both of you... Mike Link to comment
pisq 0 Posted July 18, 2009 I think you do get a real sense of that struggle from the image. Also, it seems rendered with some kindness, perhaps longing. The boards used as a backdrop are interesting, but visually distracting in some areas, just behind his lips is some element of the boards, I think it becomes fixating once noticed. Link to comment
