I like the facial expression gained. I bet (hope)the original is much sharper.

the only thing I have to comment on is the choice of background. Difficult I know but i would suggest if you can't get the back ground better selected then stand back further, zoom in closer and use a larger aperture.

I like the way you have caught the ball in the frame at a great spot adding context to the shot.
